Amazing China By Xavier University to Celebrate Chinese New Year

Xavier University of Louisiana Confucius Institute will celebrate the
Chinese New Year on Friday January 24, 2014 in the University Center Ballroom.  The event kicks off at 5:45pm with food, followed by a first-class concert of Chinese folk music, instrumental art, dance, and
acrobatic performances.  The concert, entitled "Amazing China," is performed by professors from Binghamton University Confucius Institute of Chinese Opera and New York City.  The program includes Sichuan opera face changing 川剧变脸, Beijing opera excerpts (such as The Crossroads Inn三岔口), Chinese acrobatics plate spinning 转碟 and barrel contortion 钻桶, and mezzo-soprano. 

The event is open to the general public.  Admission is $10 per adult and $5 for children 5 years old and up.  Cash only.  Ample campus parking after 5:30pm.
